If, when on the newsdesk, had to tell a reporter when they should check in, who they should speak to, when they should be telling me/the desk information, and who should be doing what if there&#039;s more than one reporter, I wouldn&#039;t be hiring them in the first place as that&#039;s all basic stuff that I expect professionals to know.</description>
